The prompt modifiers are available in CCS Pro and Enterprise. These tools allow you to fully control your cashier or servers input of menu items.

Welcome back to CCS VIDEO HELP. In this episode we'll show you how to setup prompts for your menu items.

Prompting will make sure cashiers and servers prepare items right, and Upsell modifiers and related items.

In other POS Systems Prompt Modifiers are sometimes called Forced Modifiers.

In CCS we actually have 3 types of prompt modifiers.

The overview of this session will explain, Standard Prompt Modifiers, and Limited modifiers and Forced Modifiers.

We'll switch over to the menu and show you the differences of how these Prompts work.

First these are the Prompt Modifiers.

In this example, we have simple prompt modifiers, the server chooses the Dish, and then is prompted with a few options. They don’t have to choose them, they can close the screen from the close button.

Now we’ll look at Limited Modifiers.

Limited Modifiers are like this Rotisserie chicken,

Here the cashier can only choose one side, if they try to choose more the software will simply change the side that has been assigned.

Finally Forced Modifiers

Forced modifiers are less used, but can be extremely helpful in controlling your menu.

Here we have the “¼ Chicken White 1 Side” with One Prompt, it has been set to require that one side is selected.

Okay, now that we have re-viewed these different types of Prompts, we can show you how they can be setup.

!!Go to Menu Center

!!Go to Prompt Modifiers

Prompt Modifiers are setup from the Toolbar

Or the Menu Center

Or the Menu Layout

!!! Go to Menu Layout Note: the Item Feature must be selected “Requires Mods” – This is selected over here in the menu layout.

You can see here that the Side Prompt One has the same Features you saw back on the Menu in the terminal.

We have the Title, !!Show Title – For Pizza

We have the Sub Title !! Show Sub Title – Pizza Sub Titles

And then we can select each sub title individually to show the items in that pizza prompt !! Show Items In Prompt

That’s how it works. We’ll switch back to the terminal to show you it again. !!Show Terminal

Okay, so you see here is the title, the sub title, and the menu items. Any additional sub titles show up in buttons listed along the top,

A pizza is a better example, here you can see there are more sub titles to choose from, like this , multiple sub titles. !! Enter in a pizza and price

Okay so, lets switch back again to the Office and make our own prompts.

First thing we want to do is identify what prompts to work with:

In our Menu Layout Video we added a hamburger to the menu. We are going to now setup a Prompt for the hamburger

First We need to add a new Title Called Hamburger Options

Then we can name the sub titles. Hamburgers have options most people are familiar with.

Sub Titles might be, Preparation – items in this would be something like, medium, well, rare, medium well etc..

Since we only need to choose one option from this Sub Title, we enter 1 as the Count # This will move them to the next sub title.

We could have Other Options – Bacon, Avocado, Swiss Cheese, Jack Cheese, American

Lettuce, Tomato, Onion

And we’ll want to make sure we add in important things like, No and Extra

Since we don’t know how many of these selections the cashier may choose, we enter 15, this will make sure sub title doesn’t close on them.

Now we can enter in the menu items.

We Select the Sub Title – Preparation and then press the View Items In Sub Title

These grids are just like the menu layout. So we just have to enter the item.

Now the menu wizard appears. And in this instance we know this is a modifier, so we choose modifier, then we choose the next options. For all modifiers we have to add a charge, even if it’s zero, so just press the Add Line Price.

Modifiers need a printer, however when the actually print out they Follow the item they are assigned to.

Press the Add New And Continue.

Now we’ll enter in one more from the preparation

Okay – Lets move over to the Other Options

Press the Back Button

This section covers basic Prompt Modifiers

Next I’ll show you have we made the limitations on the the Rotiserrie

From the Prompt Modifiers window again, we select the title Side Prompt 1.

Then you see here on the Limit Count, it's set to 1. That's all we did to ensure cashiers and servers can't enter more than one item.
