Computer Speed

Overtime your computer's may slow down. If you use the computer for other reasons than POS, you may have to keep maintenance more regularly.

Defrag

Do this during non-business hours.

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Right-click the local disk volume that you want to defragment, and then click Properties.
  3. On the Tools tab, click Defragment Now.
  4. Click Defragment.

Using Disk Cleanup

Disk Cleanup helps free up space on your hard drive Disk Cleanup searches your drive, and then shows you temporary files, Internet cache files, and unnecessary program files that you can safely delete. You can direct Disk Cleanup to delete some or all of those files.

Open Disk Cleanup

To open Disk Cleanup, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

Delete Back Up Files

On you primary computer , if you are running out of space you may need more. You can check your c:\backups folder, then delete or move your old backups.
