Extend Search Options in the POS Terminal

Review of Feature

Retail operations require different search options for different business types. CCS by default provides a global search field that searches on multiple fields using wild card characters to find the text within several different fields.

However, this is not always desirable. The following information shows how to extend the search features.

Extended Search Setup

For CCS Pro and above, users can create pivot reports in the office, and apply them to the POS Terminal. These lists need to use the “Products” List Type. They also have to have the “USE on Terminal” feature enabled. These options are shown in the picture below.

Showing the Search Option in The POS Terminal

The POS terminal in the Retail Screen will then display a drop down from the Inventory button. This is shown in the image below. Using this feature, the search fields can be used. The search fields can not be changed from this screen, but their operators and search values can. The operators are the values such as “>”, or “<” or “=”. The values are what you want to find.
