-A new item is a new product that needs to be added to CCS. This document will explain on how to add a new item and assign it a specific price in CCS.

-To add your new line of items in the POS system, you need to go  OfficeTouch >> Menu Center >> Menu Layout.
-To add a new item, double click on the slot and press enter. This would bring up the new product wizard where you will enter appropriate options such as tax, printers and click on Add New and Continue. You can also select a grid slot and press the insert new item button. A snapshot of where to add an item in the menu layout screen is shown in Fig 1 below :

-The pricing is set in the select category or enter prices section of the add new product wizard. To assign a price ,click on add line and enter the unit/size (i.e. 1 oz or 1 bottle) and assign a price to it .You can follow this method to add additional items and their corresponding prices in CCS.\\

-Products : Products are items that are not usually used as modifiers. Products must have a unique name\\
-Modifiers : Modifiers are generally not independent of an product. If tied to a product from the terminal, they will be deleted if the main item is deleted. You can set a different font for modifiers through system setup\\
-Text Input : Text input would be used for non tracked modification of items such as hot, cold, iced, lite etc\\
-Pizza : Pizza is a product designation for pizzas and this item gets special properties that force the menu to prompt for pizza toppings and sizes\\
-Pizza Topping : Pizza topping is a product modifier designation for pizza toppings\\
-**Inventory Information**\\
-Prompts you if it requires an serial number and needs to be inventoried\\
-**Tax Information**\\
-Allows to set tax for the item\\
