====== Price Categories ====== Prices for menu items in the terminal are retrieved from price categories. No item actually has a price assigned to it. Instead it has a price category. Price categories are generally added when entering new items into the menu. When a new category is entered, the screen prompts the user to enter new prices and new sizes. ==== Sizes ==== The system will allow new units/sizes to be entered, or the sizes can be retrieved from the drop down list. Sizes will appear as a choice to the user when using the POS. ==== Price Columns ==== Retail: Standard price for customers Cost: Purchase price or cost of item Price1: Tier pricing for customers or happy hour Price2: Same as Price1 Price3: Same as Price1 ==== Inventoried ==== For component recipes, this feature inventories this price line. ==== Product Type ==== When this item is used as both a modifier and a main item, the price lines must be assigned to the item type that will be used in the menu. For example, a shot of tequila may be a main item, or it may be a modifier at a bar, but it's price and size need to change accordingly. * Product is the standard product * Default modifier is the modifier price that automatically is input * Modifier is an optional modifier that would prompt like sizes * Weighted item is when the weight is calculated using a weighing scale * Bar Code is when you want to enter a bar code for the item * Item Count is used to enter the quantity of the item ==== Pizza Size ==== Indicates what size the pizza is, or if a topping what the price is for the correct pizza size. ===== Price Category Management ===== You can access the Price Categories Window using the following two ways - Office ToolBar >> Menu Service >> Pricing Categories - Office-Touch >> Menu Center >> Pricing Categories Pricing Categories allows you to review the items that are assigned to different price categories. It is also used to edit price lines.The category tree on the left lists all the price categories. Expanding the nodes shows what products are tied to the category.By selecting each category, you can edit the price lines on the right side. ===== Add Price Category ===== To add a new price category, you would first need to add a new menu item.
